    The 2017 Beverage Alcohol for Restaurants (BAR) will be held May 21-22, 2017 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. It is the only beverage alcohol trade event with vintner, distiller, and brewer tastings and demonstrations.

    The Bar Management Conference is a brand-new series of featured speakers, case studies, workshops, lectures and thought-leadership seminars designed to provide education in key areas of bar business and professional development.

    Beverage Alcohol for Restaurants is open to purchase influencers of a bar operation or a bar program at a restaurant/foodservice operation.

  7. Who may attend the Bar Management Conference?back to top

    The Bar Management Conference is available to all Beverage Alcohol for Restaurants Expo registrants for an additional fee.

  8. Can anyone register to attend?back to top

    No, this event is not open to the public. The following criteria must be met in order to register:

    • Individuals must be involved in the decision making process to purchase beverage alcohol in a restaurant foodservice or retail operation
    • No one under 21 years of age will be admitted at any time regardless of affiliation or circumstances. This rule is strictly enforced and there are no exceptions. This rule applies to all exhibitors and attendees. Registration of anyone under 21 years of age is unauthorized and in violation of these policies.
    • You will be required to present a government issued photo ID, business card and event badge to gain entrance. The name on all three items must match each other.

  11. Who may attend the Foodservice at Retail Summit?back to top

    The Foodservice at Retail Summit is available to all NRA Show and Beverage Alcohol for Restaurants registrants who work in a retail operation that has or is developing a foodservice program. Summit registration incurs an additional fee.

  12. Who may attend the Non-Commercial Summit?back to top

    The Non-Commercial Summit is available to all NRA Show and Beverage Alcohol for Restaurants registrants who work in a non-commercial foodservice operation. Summit registration incurs an additional fee.

  13. Are there any discounts if I buy multiple events?back to top

    If you qualify for and purchase a Beverage Alcohol for Restauran Badget, the Bar Management Conferences and a Summit, you will receive a 20% discount off of the a la carte price of each.

  14. Are there special rates such as group rates, daily rates, etc., available to attend BAR?back to top

    No. Everyone pays the same rate to attend Beverage Alcohol for Restaurants.

  15. Will badges be mailed in advance of the Show? back to top

    Show badges can be picked up onsite or mailed in advance of the Show. If badge mailing is chosen, it will be mailed to your attention at the address selected during the registration process. If you register after May 3, 2017, badges must be picked up at McCormick Place. 

  16. Can I get a listing of the educational session being offered?back to top

    The listing of the 2017 Educational Sessions will be available in January 2017.

  17. Do I have to be an NRA Member to attend?back to top

    No, but you must be affiliated with the restaurant/foodservice or lodging industry. A business card or tax id number is required to register for the Show. Your company's accounting/finance department can provide you with the tax id number. Please note: NRA Show and Beverage Alcohol for Restaurants are for trade only and not open to the public.

  18. Do NRA Members receive complimentary badges to attend BAR?back to top

    No, members of the National Restaurant Association, who qualify to attend Beverage Alcohol for Restaurants, receive a discounted badge fee of $55.

  20. Can I use a credit card or a check to register?back to top

    Registration is credit card only. We accept all major credit cards (American Express, Diner's Club, Discover, MasterCard, VISA).  Please note: Checks are not accepted.

    No, purchase orders and wire transfers are not accepted.  

  22. Are children allowed?back to top

    You must be 21 years or older to attend. No exceptions.

    No one under 16 years of age will be permitted on the NRA Show floor at any time regardless of affiliation or circumstances. This includes infants and toddlers. Absolutely no strollers or infant carriers (worn or carried) are permitted at any time on the NRA Show floor. Children ages 16 to 18 years of age are permitted only if accompanied by an adult at all times.

    The National Restaurant Association reserves the right to request proof of age from any one at any time. This rule is strictly enforced and there are no exceptions to this policy. This rule applies to all exhibitors and attendees. 

    Registration of anyone under 21 years of age for Beverage Alcohol for Restaurants and 16 years of age for NRA Show is unauthorized and in violation of these policies.

  23. What are the refund and cancellation policies?back to top

    Registered attendees are required to submit their cancellation request to the NRA at NRA@experient-inc.com by April 7, 2017.

  24. Are substitutions permitted? back to top

    Yes, substitutions may be made if the original registrant submits the request in writing including name, company, phone and email of replacement. The substitute must be eligible to attend Beverage Alcohol for Restaurants. Original payments cannot be changed and/or substituted. If badge has mailed, original badge must be returned with the letter.

    Once badge mailing has stopped, badge, letter and identification must be brought to onsite registration for substitution to occur. Please note: If badge has already been used a substitution will not be approved. 

    Sharing of badges is not permitted. 

  25. How do I make hotel arrangements?back to top

    Hotel arrangements can be made through NRA Show Official Housing by visiting the Housing Section of our website. Room availability and reservations are limited.

  26. Is Shuttle Service provided? back to top

    Yes. Complimentary shuttle is provided between official hotels and McCormick Place beginning Saturday, May 20 through Tuesday, May 23. A complete listing of hotels with corresponding shuttle route will be available soon.

  27. How do I remove merchandise from the Show floor? back to top

    Product removal from the Show floor should be accompanied by a Merchandise Removal Pass distributed by exhibitors who desire to give away product to an NRA Show attendee. The pass must be signed by a representative of the exhibiting company authorizing the attendee to remove product from their booth and the building. Security personnel will not permit attendees to leave the building without the required pass. 

  28. How long does it take to walk the Show floor?back to top

    Allow at least three days to adequately cover Beverage Alcohol for Restaurants and NRA Shows.

    The Exhibit Guide & Program will be available at McCormick Place, all four days of the Show, beginning Saturday, May 20. Exhibit Guide & Programs are not available prior to the start of the NRA Show. To view BAR 17 exhibitors please view the online floorplan on our homepage.
